Elisa Reviews Accidental Love

Dashing in after a weekend away to link to the lovely review Elisa Rolle gave my college-boys novella Accidental Love. A snippet:

Another point I liked is that these guys are romantic at heart, they want love and roses, boyfriend and kisses; sure the sex is good, but that is not what they will bring back, and along, into their life. I can imagine these two in 40 years still being together, and happy.

Thanks, Elisa! 🙂

Drive-By Updates

A few very quick updates from a very busy few weeks:

  • Finally broke 10,000 words on my primary current WIP, Trevor. Woot!
  • Working on a short story for an anthology coming out next spring.
  • Finished the cover art spec sheet for En Fuego, my novella releasing in December.
  • Headed to San Francisco this coming weekend for the Folsom Street Fair.
  • Getting together plans for the Atlanta Pride parade next month.

More to come soon! 🙂

New Contract: En Fuego

I’m happy to announce that my novella En Fuego has been accepted for publication with Dreamspinner Press. Tentative release date is December 2012.

The preliminary blurb:

Marshall Ramirez wasn’t looking to fall in love, but from the moment firefighter Brad Flannery walks through the doors of Marsh’s veterinary clinic, he’s smitten. Marsh and Brad’s relationship is just getting off the ground when the dangers of Brad’s job hit a little too close to home. Will the fiery passion they share be enough to keep them together?

Six Sentence Sunday: En Fuego

I am absolutely thrilled that I wrote 5,625 words on this novella yesterday, bringing my word count total to over 20,000. I estimate I’m two thirds of the way finished with the first draft; the additional length on the word count meter over there will come in an additional subplot and some fleshing out to be done in revisions. I’m hoping to get the first draft finished by the end of this week, before Outlantacon sweeps me away. 🙂

To celebrate, my six sentences today are from En Fuego, which, for the record, stars Marsh and Brad, a veterinarian and a firefighter:

Marsh lowered his head to suck and nibble at the side of Brad’s neck, searching out the spot that had set him off so much the week before. He knew when he found it because he heard the low thump as Brad’s head hit the wall again. The fingers on his hips dug in tight, enough that it probably would’ve hurt if he hadn’t been so damn turned on.

As it was, the little sting of pain pushed him right to the brink, so close to orgasm he could taste it in the metallic flavor of adrenaline in the back of his mouth. He lifted his head back up to slam his mouth down over Brad’s, taking full control, not giving a single millimeter. And Brad surrendered, as Marsh had known he would, handing over the keys without question.

Serena Yates at QMO Books Reviews Accidental Love

Another lovely review! Serena Yates is doing a great job with QMO Books, keeping the book review section of the former Queer Magazine Online going, and she had some very nice things to say about Accidental Love. A snippet:

Not all the issues get solved by the end of the story. There are some real issues remaining, mainly for Greg, who is scared of falling back into old habits. But I liked the way they decide to face whatever comes their way together–that’s the whole point about a working relationship.

Thanks, Serena!

Jenre Reviews Accidental Love

Jenre gave my college-roommates novella Accidental Love a very lovely review today! A snippet:

There’s lots of emotion, yes, but the tone of the story, thanks the breezy writing and lighthearted feel, remains easy to read and not at all overwhelming. … It’s high on the emotional content with lots of simmering lust in the background. Great stuff and a recommended read with a grade of ‘Excellent’.

Thanks, Jenre! 🙂

Brief Encounters Reviews Accidental Love

Tam at Brief Encounters gave a lovely B review to my college-roommates novella Accidental Love. A snippet:

It’s not overly angsty, nor is it overly plot driven. It’s two guys, who despite sharing a small dorm room, finally take the time to get to know who the other is, and over a couple of weeks have to decide if they want to make some changes in their lives.

Thanks, Tam! 🙂

Release Day! Accidental Love from Amber Allure

My new novella Accidental Love is now available from Amber Allure. The special new release price is just $3.25, so grab it fast! 🙂

Blurb:

College roommates Greg and Keith are polar opposites when it comes to relationships. Greg equates sex with the alcohol and drugs he gave up, while Keith protects his heart by keeping sex strictly casual. At first, neither Greg nor Keith realizes the other is gay, but once they get to know each other better, they feel drawn together, and their developing attraction makes each of them reevaluate his stance on relationships.

Keith starts out thinking he only wants a roommates-with-benefits arrangement, something more than his usual weekend flings but still casual, yet soon he begins to feel more for Greg. Greg’s afraid of what he’s feeling because he has trouble mentally separating sex from the other bad habits that had nearly ruined his life.

Greg’s fears leave him spooked by an impromptu kiss following a game of one-on-one basketball, but that’s nothing compared with how he feels after a dinner date ends with the two men having sex. To help bring Greg back from the edge, Keith opens up his heart, but will it be enough to allow them to move forward together?

A brief excerpt is also available on the sales page. Enjoy! 🙂
