Accidental Fall Release Week

It’s been a busy few months, to say the least, so I’m playing catch-up a lot. Last Wednesday was the re-release of my novella Accidental Fall, and I did a few blog posts and got a few reviews. J

On Saturday, September 17, MM Good Book Reviews hosted me with a post about the re-release of Accidental Fall and an excerpt.

Last Thursday, I was at Love Bytes to talk about how much I adore the city of Chicago, where Accidental Fall is set.

And this past Saturday, my regular Outside the Margins post at Prism Book Alliance was all about my favorite season of the year.

As for reviews, well, hey, I think people like the story:

The Blogger Girls: “It was an easy, light-on-angst story – which was definitely good for something in between more serious/heavy novels.”

Divine Magazine: “All the feelings between them I felt it…..all the body language…the faltering, the drooping, the flushed faces, the hitched breath, all those little signals. I loved the bubble.”

Diverse Reader: “Accidental Fall is a sweet, fluffy, fun read. Two roommates, both with secrets finding love from each other.”

The Novel Approach: “If you are looking for a cute and quick read that doesn’t get too angsty and leaves you with a smile, this story could definitely be for you.”

Rainbow Book Reviews: “If you’re looking for a story about real guys with real issues, if you like them to have a past that influences current behavior, and if a slowly growing sexual and emotional tension that grips you and doesn’t let you go are your thing, then you will probably like this novella.”

Oh My Shelves: “It was sweet short new adult story. Both guys have time to grow and figure out if this is what they want. I enjoyed it.”

Alpha Book Club: “The chemistry it sweet and shy at first building as the story progresses. The story has a pretty steady pace with a HEA ending.”

In other news, last night sent my next novella, Heart & Soul, off to a final beta. I’m working on scheduling a cover reveal (it’s another gorgeous AngstyG design), and the release date is set for November. And meanwhile, I’m working steadily away on Graphite & Glitter, another novella for self-publishing and my first F/F story. Woot!

Currently writing: Graphite & Glitter (~23%)

RELEASE DAY! Nobody’s Son Blog Tour/Parties/Giveaways Galore!

Today’s the day! Nobody’s Son, book three (and the last novel) in the Sons series, is now available! Blurb and buy links:

NobodysSon_600Who wouldn’t want a nice cup of tall, dark, and gorgeous? Shaun Rogers does. He’s working at the front desk of a clothing-optional gay resort when Conrad “Con” Brooks walks in. The sweet, funny, and smart IT guy is there to install a new network and security system, and sparks fly between the two men from the start. Trouble is, Shaun’s hiding his sexuality from his grandmother, the only family he has left, and that makes him reluctant to take the leap with Con.

Then a man claiming to be Shaun’s absent father shows up out of nowhere, throwing Shaun completely off balance. His life spiraling toward chaos, Shaun soon discovers that his “father” is hiding secrets of his own. When things come to a head between them, it’s Con who comes to Shaun’s rescue—but the incident could force Shaun into a decision he’s not sure he’s ready to make.

In other great news, Unfortunate Son, along with the follow-up Wayward Son, received Honorable Mentions in the 2015 Rainbow Awards. (For those who aren’t familiar, an Honorable Mention means that at least one judge awarded 36 or more points out of a possible 40. It’s separate from the final award placement; for example, Playing Ball received an Honorable Mention and then won the category in 2014.)

NobodysSon_600And finally, next Monday I’ll be embarking on a blog tour in support of Nobody’s Son, book three in the Sons series. I’ll kick things off at Prism Book Alliance, and I’ll post the full tour schedule here as well. There’ll be prizes, naturally, so be sure to check back and check out the tour to win! Unfortunate Son Blog Tour Winner, Apartment Hunting, and a Blizzard

First, congratulations to Serena, who won the prize package from the Unfortunate Son blog tour. Thanks to all who participated, and happy reading!

Second, over the weekend, we found a new apartment, so my sister and JP Barnaby and I will be moving in March. Woot! (And now: the packing.)

Third, Ms. Barnaby is stranded in Atlanta because of the Chicago blizzard. Every time she comes to Atlanta, Atlanta tries to keep her. It’s okay, really, Atlanta. In a couple of months, she’ll be here for good!

More Blog Touring, and a Peek at Wayward Son

Today I’m over at Prism Book Alliance with a post about secondary characters in Unfortunate Son. There’s also an exclusive snippet from book 2, Wayward Son, which features Cory, Jimmy, and Mikey from book 1 and will be out in just a few months. Be sure to go check it out! 🙂

Random Friday Updates

First, a clarification, because this is important. I saw a comment about this, so I wanted to clarify that the US flag in the cover image for Unfortunate Son is not touching the floor. Travis was standing on a paper background drape for the shoot, and while the flag did touch the paper a few times, it was never on the floor. Travis is a military veteran and I’m the daughter and granddaughter of one, so that’s definitely something we paid attention to.

Moving on… more Unfortunate Son blog tour stops! I’ve been to Andrew Q. Gordon’s with a post on writing to a deadline, The Kimi-chan Experience talking about Atlanta as setting, Grace R. Duncan’s to discuss how “The Hero’s Journey” helped me write Unfortunate Son, and The Blogger Girls to talk about how the progression of same-sex marriage legalization could affect gay romance fiction. (The last post went up early, but better early than never!)

And in other news, I’ve completed the first round of edits on Sons book 2, Wayward Son, and I’m deep into work on book 3, Nobody’s Son. Also, the print version of Butt Babes in Boyland is being finalized, and Butt Riders on the Range (with my story “Faux Cowboy”) is in production with the publisher. Release dates to follow as soon as I have them! 🙂

More Blog Tour & Reviews for Unfortunate Son

It’s been a busy release week, and it’s not over yet! 🙂

Speaking of Love Bytes, their reviewer Cindy gave Unfortunate Son an awesome 5-star review. Thank you so much!

And, for anyone near Atlanta, tomorrow night I’ll be throwing a book release party and signing at Burkhart’s at Ansley Square. Cover model Travis Irons will be there, and we’ll both be available to sign books. Come on out and say hi!
