What’s Coming Down the Pike

A few updates on what I’ve got cookin’…

Weekend after next, I’m heading over to Birmingham for the Southern Magic Romance reader luncheon. I’ll be co-hosting a table with the fabulous Aidee Ladnier. There’s still time to sign up if you’re in the area!

On the writing front, my next novella, Heart & Soul, is all set to release on November 14. It’s a contemporary M/M about a jazz pianist and a former pro football player. Links are in the sidebar over to the right.

Next is Graphite & Glitter, my first F/F story, which I’m revising now for a release date in January. It’s a contemporary about an artist/architect and a bass player/violinist. I’m eagerly awaiting the cover!

In November, I’ll be working on Help Wanted: Boyfriend, my first M/F category romance contemporary romance. I’m not officially signing up for NaNo this year, but I’m hoping to finish the first draft by the end of the month anyway. (I’m about 8k into it already.) I’ll be going the publisher route with that one, so it’ll be a while before I have any idea of a release date.

A college sports series is next on my list, though scheduling is always subject to change. I have a backlog of story ideas that’ll keep me going for a while—and that’s not counting the new plotbunnies that always crop up!

An Anniversary Worth Noting, and A Look Ahead

Sand&WaterLGOn this day 5 years ago, my first novel was released. Sand & Water told the story of widower John, who finds love again with Bryan. I still get warm fuzzy feelings about the story, and I’m still proud of it.

The novella I just finished writing, Heart & Soul, will be my 25th published story. Four novels, eight novellas, and thirteen short stories (not counting freebies and re-releases). It’ll come out a little more than six years after my first story, Model Student.

All of my stories so far have been M/M (or M/M/M), but with no. 26, I’m branching out into F/F. I also have an M/F in the works, and a series that will include M/M, M/F, and F/F (at least).

I’ve never been the biggest seller out there, or the one with the best reviews, or the biggest fanbase. But I enjoy being an author, and I like what I write. I hope readers do, too. And hope those who enjoy my writing will keep right on reading. 🙂

NobodysSon_600Who wouldn’t want a nice cup of tall, dark, and gorgeous? Shaun Rogers does. He’s working at the front desk of a clothing-optional gay resort when Conrad “Con” Brooks walks in. The sweet, funny, and smart IT guy is there to install a new network and security system, and sparks fly between the two men from the start. Trouble is, Shaun’s hiding his sexuality from his grandmother, the only family he has left, and that makes him reluctant to take the leap with Con.

Then a man claiming to be Shaun’s absent father shows up out of nowhere, throwing Shaun completely off balance. His life spiraling toward chaos, Shaun soon discovers that his “father” is hiding secrets of his own. When things come to a head between them, it’s Con who comes to Shaun’s rescue—but the incident could force Shaun into a decision he’s not sure he’s ready to make.

AllRomance Features Unfortunate Son, plus Rainbow Awards and a Blog Tour

UnfortunateSon_smallFirst up! Unfortunate Son is a Featured Bargain at AllRomance eBooks today: get 50% off! Great time to grab a copy and get started on the series, with book three coming out in just a week.

In other great news, Unfortunate Son, along with the follow-up Wayward Son, received Honorable Mentions in the 2015 Rainbow Awards. (For those who aren’t familiar, an Honorable Mention means that at least one judge awarded 36 or more points out of a possible 40. It’s separate from the final award placement; for example, Playing Ball received an Honorable Mention and then won the category in 2014.)

NobodysSon_600And finally, next Monday I’ll be embarking on a blog tour in support of Nobody’s Son, book three in the Sons series. I’ll kick things off at Prism Book Alliance, and I’ll post the full tour schedule here as well. There’ll be prizes, naturally, so be sure to check back and check out the tour to win! (Great big thanks to William Cooper and IndiGo Marketing & Design for putting the tour together.)

Six months after they started dating, Evan Day and Riley Yeats are settling into living together in Riley’s loft. COVER REVEAL and Preorders for Wayward Son (Sons, Book 2)

Another gorgeous job by the fabulous Paul Richmond!

WaywardSon_smallIsn’t Mikey pretty? 🙂

The blurb for Wayward Son:

After his move to Atlanta and away from the influence of his conservative parents, Mikey O’Malley finally feels free to be himself: art student, aspiring animator, and out gay man. He has friends, a new job, and not one, but two men interested in him. Cory Lassiter and Jimmy Black have been a happy couple for years, occasionally bringing a twink into their bed, but only for a brief roll in the hay. When Mikey meets the pair, the attraction is immediate, and it runs three ways. Mikey just can’t believe they’d have room in their lives for a permanent addition.

When Mikey’s newfound life is shattered by a lawsuit that accuses him of molesting a child years earlier, he’s determined to face his troubles on his own, but Cory and Jimmy are just as determined that he not have to go it alone. To reconcile his need for independence and his desire for love, Mikey has to learn that being a man isn’t just about standing on your own two feet. It’s about letting yourself lean on the ones who love you.

Wayward Son releases May 11 from Dreamspinner Press.
