Pictures from Pride and GRL

I’ve had a whirlwind couple of weeks, with Atlanta Pride weekend before last and GayRomLit in Albuquerque last week. I had a wonderful time with some fantastic people, both old friends and new, and now I’m back home with an open schedule ahead of me. Rather than my trying to remember all the moments I’d like to share and forgetting far too much, have some pictures!

Drive-By Updates

A few very quick updates from a very busy few weeks:

  • Finally broke 10,000 words on my primary current WIP, Trevor. Woot!
  • Working on a short story for an anthology coming out next spring.
  • Finished the cover art spec sheet for En Fuego, my novella releasing in December.
  • Headed to San Francisco this coming weekend for the Folsom Street Fair.
  • Getting together plans for the Atlanta Pride parade next month.

More to come soon! 🙂

Outlantacon Schedule

I’ll be sitting on five panels at Outlantacon this weekend, and most of the rest of the time, I’ll be at the Dreamspinner Press table in the dealer’s room. Hope to see you there!

Tentative Outlantacon Schedule

I have a (very) tentative panel schedule for Outlantacon. I’m actually slated for two panels at the same time right now, but I have more to say about one than the other, so that’s the one I’m listing here. Subject to change, of course! I’ll update as the weekend gets closer. 🙂

2012 Event Schedule

Always subject to change, but here’s what’s on the slate so far:

March 24—Rainbow Book Fair, New York, NY
I’ll be at the Dreamspinner Press table for part of the time, probably wandering around for the rest. 🙂

May 4–6—Outlantacon, Atlanta, GA
I’ll be an official guest for the first time! Panel schedules are still being worked out, but I’ll be on at least a couple.

August 31–September 3—Dragon*Con, Atlanta, GA
On staff, as usual. No official events yet, but we may put together another M/M author meetup like we did for last year.

October 18–21—GayRomLit, Albuquerque, NM
I’ll be there as an author this time around, yee-haw! 🙂

What Planet Am I On?

Sorry about the sudden radio silence there, folks. Yes, I’m still alive and kicking! A combination of day-job busyness and GayRomLit have kept me pretty much limited to 140 characters at a time. 🙂

But I’m here now with an update, albeit brief. GayRomLit in New Orleans was amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. So much fun meeting so many authors and readers, and New Orleans itself is always a fun time. My favorite parts were the Dreamspinner publisher’s spotlight and the riverboat cruise, but everything else ran a close second. 🙂

A few of the things I learned: Damon Suede has enough personality in his little finger to charm the pants right off your body; I have a total platonic girl crush on J.P. Barnaby; Kate McMurray is basically me, except she lives in Brooklyn; it’s Marguerite Labbe’s fault the Braves and Red Sox tanked at the end of the season; Rick Reed is a sweetie and much quieter in person than you’d expect; Rowan Speedwell has an incredibly cool earring collection to match her incredibly cool self; William Cooper loves daiquiris and is totally adorable and I would totally adopt him, but I can’t afford to pay his tuition; construction in a hotel full of gay romance writers and readers will result in many, many comments about drilling and screwing; and I am in total awe of the event organizers for getting such a crazy bunch of people into any semblance of order.

I could go on for days (no, really), but unfortunately, the day job keeps dragging me away. Le sigh. More updates and such soon! 🙂

NOLA, Here I Come!

Headed off to New Orleans today for GayRomLit. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of people there! I’m not registered as an author, so I don’t have a scheduled signing or anything. But I’ll be at the Dreamspinner publisher’s spotlight, at least, so come by and say hi. 🙂

Two Things… Okay, Three Things!

Thing #1: Because several people have asked, yes, I do have seedlings for a sequel to Sand & Water in mind. I’m not foolish enough to make promises (at least not until something is actually written!), but I’d like to revisit John and Bryan just as much as some of you would. 🙂

Thing #2: Dreamspinner Press is the featured publisher at All Romance Ebooks for the rest of this month, which means a 25% rebate on all titles. Go on over and take advantage!

Thing #3: Particularly aimed at those attending GayRomLit next month, the Goodreads M/M Romance Group has put together a free anthology, Don’t Read in the Closet, featuring stories from 27 of the authors who’ll be in attendance. I don’t have a story in the anthology, but that isn’t going to stop me from reading it!!

Dragon*Con, Blog Feature, and Sale!

Back home after an incredibly busy, very tiring, and hugely fun Dragon*Con weekend! I was thrilled to get to meet a bunch of other M/M authors and spend a few hours talking with them, plus the readers and others who came by to say hi. I even sold a couple of books, woo! I’ll try to get into a little more detail after I’ve had time to rest up a bit. 🙂

Of course, D*C made me a day late on this, but Lou Sylvre was nice enough to feature me at her blog yesterday. She asked some great questions, and she assured me my answers didn’t come across as fuzzy-headed as I was feeling when I wrote them up Saturday afternoon! She also has information on Sand & Water, including a couple of excerpts. Stop by and check it out!

And finally, I’m pleased to announce that Silver Publishing will be including my short story “In From The Cold” in their 25 Days of Christmas collection in December!

Dragon*Con Day One: Exhaustion? Already?

So it’s evening of the first full day of Dragon*Con, and my tailfeathers are sagging. Note to self: never plan to cook a fried chicken dinner for nine the same weekend as D*C. Fun, yes; relaxing, not so much. 🙂

I haven’t actually had a chance to get out and do much yet. I worked a shift yesterday afternoon (I’m on the Daily Dragon staff), and my houseguests and I were all moving slowly this morning, so we didn’t get back down to the convention until around noon. Checked in at the office, hit FedEx for copies, took a trip through the dealer room, grabbed some dinner, and came back to the room to rest.

In a few minutes, I’ll start getting ready for the 25th Anniversary Masked Ball, and then I’ll go straight from there to my first overnight shift. I think the heating pad will go with me. My back is already complaining.

Hope to see some of you tomorrow! Marriott 10th Floor, 1 to 3 p.m. Just look for the signs. 🙂
